Caitlin Hare

Introducing Caitlin Hare – Vintage Fashion Creator and Sustainable Style Advocate.

Caitlin’s love affair with fashion began long before she started sharing her bold, colourful looks online. Her mum swears it’s been 25 years in the making...ever since Caitlin was sketching dream outfits with Crayola and planning her non-uniform day ensembles with meticulous care. With creativity in her DNA (her dad a musician, her mum a seamstress and costumier), Caitlin grew up in a home that celebrated self-expression, and always with kindness to the planet at its heart.

By the age of 16, she was already immersed in the world of fashion, working at Topshop while developing a fascination with the stories clothes tell and the confidence they can inspire. A job at a vintage store during university opened up a whole new world of discovery, from 60s mod to 70s bohemia, sparking a lifelong passion for vintage style. In 2017, she launched her own brand, The Octopus Garden, bringing her love of bygone eras to life. What began as a small passion project soon grew into a vibrant business, trading at festivals and culminating in a full 60s-inspired collection in 2023.

Caitlin’s online presence is as joyful and expressive as her wardrobe. Her content champions maximalist fashion — all colour, print and personality — while celebrating sustainability and individuality. What started as a personal outfit diary has blossomed into a thriving community of vintage lovers who share Caitlin’s ethos: wear what makes you happy, and wear it often.

Recognised as a trusted voice in the vintage fashion space, Caitlin has been featured in The Mirror, Manchester Evening News and appeared on BBC Breakfast discussing 70s style. A proud member of Greenpeace, she’s a passionate advocate for conscious consumption and regularly speaks on sustainable fashion at UK festivals.

Caitlin has collaborated with leading brands including Crocs, Disney, Marvel, Chilly’s Bottles, Beefeater Gin, Bargain Booze, Instax, Ford, Regal Rose, SumUp, Coleman and Alpine, as well as emerging music artists. Each partnership reflected her playful, creative energy and love of retro style. Her mission is simple: to inspire confidence through self-expression and prove that style and sustainability can beautifully coexist.
