Introducing Katie Lois Hutchinson – our very own scientist extraordinaire!

Katie is already making waves in the world of academia. Hailing from the vibrant streets of London, she's currently pursuing her DPhil in Biology at Oxford University, with a razor-sharp focus on Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation (NbS-CCA). Katie's journey isn't your typical academic trajectory. Avoiding the conventional path of a master's degree, she dove straight into her doctoral studies, driven by a burning desire to enact real change in the fight against climate change.

But don't let her academic prowess fool you – Katie's story is anything but one-dimensional. With a diverse array of past roles, including stints at McDonald's, Screwfix, Primark, and Waitrose, she's no stranger to hard work and versatility. Yet, it's her consultancy work for esteemed organisations like the UNEP and IUCN that truly sets her apart as a global force to be reckoned with.

Passionate about women's empowerment and spreading kindness wherever she goes, Katie is a ray of sunshine in any room. Fuelled by an insatiable appetite for fun and adventure, she's the first to say "yes" to new experiences, all while keeping her sights set on the bigger picture.

As she pursues her academic and personal goals, Katie dreams of achieving any milestones she sets while staying true to herself and treating social media as more than just a platform – it's a canvas for her creative expression.
