Tom Egleton aka Teacher Tommy T
Tom Egleton, better known online as Teacher Tommy T, is an educator-turned-creator who has built a vibrant online community of over 4 million young people across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. With a natural flair for comedy and a passion for inclusive education, Tom uses his platform to demystify school life, support student wellbeing and bring laughter to classrooms (and living rooms) across the UK.
By day, Tom is a respected Inclusive Learning Lecturer at City College Norwich, where he’s spent the past twelve years teaching and advocating for students with Special Educational Needs. By night (and online), he’s a relatable teacher figure offering everything from SATs advice and GCSE motivation to funny classroom skits and survival tips for secondary school life. This all started during the 2020 lockdown, when Tom began creating light-hearted school-themed videos to stay connected with his students. Fast forward five years, and Teacher Tommy T has become a household name in youth and education circles – even earning a royal seal of approval from King Charles, who Tom met at a Buckingham Palace garden party celebrating leaders in education and skills.
Teacher Tommy T is known for mixing humour with heart, always responding to serious student concerns with empathy, positivity and genuinely helpful advice. He collaborates with teachers across the UK to give young people access to trusted support online, often through his trademark ‘top tips’ videos that are shared in staff rooms and student chats alike.
Whether he’s meeting the King or making jokes about classroom chaos, Tom’s mission remains the same: to make learning feel inclusive, engaging and just a little less scary.
